An ant hurries along a threshing floor with its wheat grain,
moving between huge stacks of wheat,
not knowing the abundance all around.
It thinks its one grain
is all there is to love.
– Rumi
Question: What wheat grain(s) do you find yourself getting stuck on?
Perhaps the ant knows when is enough…unlike humans who accumulate more than they need on the broken backs of their fellow man…
Often, people who don’t have enough of what’s truly important feel driven to accumulate more than they need in order to fill that perceived emptiness.
Thanks, Eric!
In respects to my writing, for a long time I was stuck on the grain that was the first unfinished draft of my WIP. Then I threw out the entire manuscript and started from scratch, opening up the world to my creative mind. It’s going better now.
It’s so easy to get stuck on a narrow vision. It’s great to hear that opening up worked so well for you!
